YASO BASKETBALL HOUSE LEAGUE RULES:

1. No playoffs

• The season is a points system
• Each victory is worth three (3) points
• Each tie is worth one (1) point
• A loss is (0) zero points
• The team with the most points at the end of the season wins the gold medal. The team with second most points wins the silver medal and the team with the third most point wins the bronze medal

2. Age groups based on grade (1,2,3), (4,5,6), & (7,8,9)

• Age groups are based on grade of each player
• There will be 4 or more teams per age group, with 6-8 players per team.
• Teams are small in numbers, to allow each player to get sufficient playing time minutes each game

GAME RULES:

1. 40-minute game times (within 1hr real time)
2. 2–20-minute run time halves
3. Each team gets one time out per half

• Each time out is 1 minute

1.) 40-minute game (within 1hr real time)

• Runtime
• 1 timeout per team per half
• Substitutions on dead ball
• No shift rules.
• Coaches choose their coaching style.
• No bonus/penalty for fouls
• No commentary from parents, players, coaches, or audience towards referees.
• Technical fouls will be handed out to players, coaches, and parents.
• Each free throw is worth 2 points.

2.) 2–20-minute run time halves

3.)  An Additional 2-1-minute timeouts per half for the referee

• 1^st time out is in the 12-minute mark of the half
• 2^nd time out is at the 5-minute mark of the half

Fouls

• Each player gets 5 fouls per game
• A foul shot is worth 2 points
• If a player gets fouled shooting a three pointer, the player takes two shots
• First shot is worth 2 points.
• Second shot is worth 1 point.

Defensive rules

• Half court defense ONLY
• No double teaming above the three-point line
• No zone defense.
• Man to Man ONLY

• Co-ed for all genders

2. Best player in league award
3. Most improved
4. 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th place team awards

• The team with the most points within the season wins 1^st
• The team with the second most points within the season wins 2^nd
• The team with the third most points within the season wins 3^rd
• The team with the fourth most points within the season wins 4^th
